Adidas has launched a range of men’s trainers in the US that transform into a branded virtual world held in front of a computers web-cam. The five different trainers will enable Adidas to introduce three games developed by game developer xForm into the virtual neighborhood. The games will include a skateboard game, where the trainer acts as the controller to navigate the virtual city’s alleys, along with a Star Wars themed game and music based game. ![]() |

Getting behind the camera again: music video malarky with Graham
Easter eggs and lazy’ness are all good ingredients for the typical Easter weekend. Heading out into the woodland with Graham and friends to film music videos is more tasty than a lorry load of Creme Eggs and more hilarious than watching the Morecombe & Wise Easter special. I first heard ‘Sorrow’s Army’ on Graham’s iPod in Camden’s cafe Nero over a year ago, so to be filming the footage for Graham was such a privilege. The brilliant director and animator Chris Hopewell (you probably know him from Radiohead’s There There video) is creating the animation and effects for Graham’s In The Morning. In an effort to sprinkle in a few more pieces of motion footage Graham, Team-Coxon and myself all kitted-up and headed into woodland, field and muddy-brook; rummaging in the mudd’ege and frolicking in the nettles-of-sting. Damn those nettles! I should gain the feeling back in my legs in a few weeks! The others -especially Graham after the final muddy-water-river-scene – are all scarred for life…four days with me can do that to anyone… |

RIP Davy Graham, Britain’s greatest Folk Guitarist & Folklore hero
As posted on the official Davy Graham website: It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Davy died yesterday amongst friends and family from a massive seizure at home after a short battle with lung cancer. There will be a private family funeral held in the next few days and a public memorial in January; details of which will be available at www.lescousins.co.uk shortly. Davy will be missed by those of us who loved him. The many fans who came to see his last concerts gave him much joy and satisfaction and was something he drew great strength from. Messages of condolence can be sent via davygraham@lescousins.co.uk |

JavaScript 2 and the future of ActionScript 4
The ECMAScript 4 has been overhauled and the ambitions for JavaScript 2 have been pulled back into alignment with these amendments. This is quite disappointing, although it appears to still be heading in the right direction. Read the full specification here. ActionScript is also based on, and compliant with, the ECMAScript 4 standard so I’m wondering how this new proposal will affect its future development. I do hope they haven’t abandoned the holographic-eye-laser-projection classes. |
